Emergency Preparedness

An Emergency Preparedness meeting will be held in the Provo City Council Chambers on June 9th at 6:30 PM.  There they will discuss flooding, CERT training and emergency preparedness.
All residents are invited to attend this meeting.

CERT stands for Community Emergency Response Team. CERT training educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Using the training learned in the classroom and during exercises, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help. CERT members also are encouraged to support emergency response agencies by taking a more active role in emergency preparedness projects in their community.

The City is planning to hold CERT training in August or September.  If you or someone you know is interested in this training, call Deon (801-377-5668).  We want to be sure that there are CERT certified people in our neighborhood!
