Let us hear from you!

The officers of the Grandview South Neighborhood met on Thursday evening and discussed how we can best serve our neighbors.
Among the suggestions was the "Neighborhood Watch" program.  What do you think of this suggestion?  Use the comment section below to indicate whether you are in favor of establishing a local Neighborhood Watch program.
We are also interested in improving our ability to communicate with neighbors in the case of an emergency.  The City can use a system called "reverse 911" that will send automated calls to every phone in particular areas but this would only reach land line phones and, as we know, more and more families are cutting land lines and relying on mobile phones.  Texting and email are becoming the more reliable ways of reaching many people.  With this in mind, we will be surveying households in the future to create a list of contact information.  You can choose the method that emergency messages would be sent to you--voice phone, text, direct email, Facebook, etc.
We want our neighbors to know that any contact information we receive will only be used for Neighborhood emergencies and will not be released to anyone to use for any other purpose--commercial, political, etc.
Items of interest that are not emergencies will be posted on this blog so invite your neighbors to follow our blog. In addition, if you know of events or items of interest to your neighbors send
